Harvest Moon SNES - Controls
What? You still don't know how to smash a rock with your hammer with your controller? So that means you really are a complete beginner.  Well, let me explain those things to you. Controls in Harvest Moon SNES is easy. You cannot change your viewpoint in your character in any way aside from viewing him overhead. Who cares right? The classics <3

Controls

D-Pad (Directional Pad) 
-- Up | Down - Moves Jack vertically.
-- Left | Right - Moves your character horizontally
yep, you cannot run or walk diagonally in this game.

A-Button
-- Well, the typical A-button. It is used to select options in the Menu Screen.
-- Used to talk to a person, to confirm answers, examine objects, picks up or puts down objects.

B-Button
-- Used to sprint or run and to jump over your fences. Oh and to jump over the mountains when going down. Just hold down the button and you will sprint towards the direction you are facing.
-- A "cancel" button.

X-Button
-- Switch tools. You can carry two tools at a time, and you can switch between those when pressing this button.

Y-Button
-- To use tool currently selected on your "hands".
-- To fish(?) in the mountain

R-Button
-- To whistle for your horse. Whistling using this button will make your horse run(hop?) towards you.

L-Button
-- To whistle for your dog. Whistling using this button will make your dog run towards you.

Select
-- When pressed, it will show you your money, the tool currently active, and the date. When you obtained the clock (see secrets section), the current time in-game will be shown. And a kind of pause in the game(?).

Start
-- Not used in-game. Only to skip the introduction of the game, as well as to take you to the "Start Game" menu.
